Finally we get some
Caity action! In compensation for his almost irrelevant apparition in the movie,
this time Square-Enix decided to create a whole level for him in the shooter
incarnation of the game, Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. For more
info about this game, go here.
But let's start from the beginning. Finally Reeve Tuesti also got a good character design and relevance in this story (and a last name!). This man is not only the leader of the World Regenesis Organization (WRO) (which takes care of Gaia and stop potential problems), but is also regarded as the responsible of saving the planet 3 years ago (the ending of the original game). However, he needs Vincent Valentine's -the protagonist of the game- help, as he has no special battle or magic skills as the rest of the group, and they will aid each other at some circunstances.
Without any doubts, the
best bit happens after finishing half of Chapter 5 as Vincent, who decides to
take a little rest. Suddenly the spotlight is on... guess who? Cait Sith! Bye
for now to the dark atmosphere of this game, there is absolute cuteness ruling
here! The problem is, the
poor cat -who moves faster than Vincent, let's admit it- can't use any kind of attack, so all you can do is run away from
your enemies, which isn't that easy, they are everywhere! The main strategy is
not letting them see you and run away of this terrible maze without dying first...
meanwhile, you see little yellow glitter everywhere. Eventually, you find a
black hole leading to the place Cait has to go. After that, a cut scene and
you're Vincent again.
Reeve is constantly using Cait Siths, leading to funny moments. A good example is at the beginning of the game, when Reeve and Vincent are talking, and the Tsviets (the enemy) appear and shoot Reeve, who falls to the floor. Vincent deals with some issues and then they leave. In that moment, we find out that Reeve was actually a robot, controlled by a Cait Sith inside of him. lol The "original" one was somewhere else...
Caity reappears -as everyone else in this game- at the very end to see Vincent defeating the main enemy, but who really speaks and shouts with everyone "YEAH!" -Cloud included- at the very end is Reeve.
