cool facts!
- Cait Sith's character is inspired by a creature from Celtic Mythology called Cat Sidhe. According to the beliefs, it haunted the Scotland Highlands, and looked like a black and white cat (sounds familiar o.o). It was believed to be some kind of fairy ("Sidhe" means Fairy, while "Cat" is... well, Cat) or a witch which looked like a cat.
- Since there were no voices in the original game, we never knew how Caity sounded like... until Advent Children, when we discovered that Cait Sith has a Scottish accent. (?) This has been kept in later incarnations, such as Dirge of Cerberus.
- When you first visit the Honeybee Inn (one of the most amusing locations in the game, indeed), you can peek through the keyholes in the different rooms. In one of them, you can see Cait Sith jumping around, and in another room, Reeve is having a conversation with the President.
- Cait Sith has a little apparition in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII... as a summon. (?) (thanks for the tip, Larissa! <3)
- There is an enemy in Final Fantasy IV called Cait Sith.
- In Final Fantasy VI, one of the espers is called Cait Sith.
- In Final Fantasy X, Lulu is a woman whose weapons are toys. Some of these toys have the name "Cait Sith" included, like Fatal Cait Sith, Novicious Cait Sith and Sleepy Cait Sith.
- In Final Fantasy X-2, Rikku has a Dressphere (some kind of item) with the name Cait Sith. (what else did you expect?)
- In Final Fantasy XI -the online encarnation of FF- one of the servers is called Cait Sith.
- In Kingdom Hearts II, there is a model of Gummi Ship -a spaceship you use to travel around the different worlds- which resembles our dear Caity, and is called, of course, Cait Sith.
- Square-Enix has admitted that Cait Sith, as well as Red XIII, doesn't appear very much in the newest productions (Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus) because his fur is hard to animate. Yes, the reason for not having enough cuteness in AC... is precisely that cuteness itself. ;_;
