Last Order
is an 25 minutes-long OVA (Original Video Animation) produced by
Square-Enix and the studio Madhouse (Card Captor Sakura, Ouran Koukou
Host Club), and released along with a special edition of the movie Advent
Children in 2005. The story has a strong connection with the ones in Before
Crisis and Crisis Core.
The movie shows 2 linked flashbacks featured in the original game, even though there are several differences between them. The OVA starts with the events in Nibelheim, when Zack and Cloud go back to Nibelheim and find it in flames, with Sephiroth gone mad and Tifa trapped in the disaster. The other flashback shows Cloud and Zack escaping from Shinra, fighting the Turks, and finally hitchhiking in their way to Midgar, and being ambushed by the Turks. The ending is rather sudden, and you don't really understand unless you have seen the secret flashback in the original game, or played Crisis Core.
